New Beginnings

new-beginnings

Hello dear friends! It’s great to be back in the blog world. I’ll be the first to admit, life got the best of me and time slipped away. Days turned to weeks, weeks turned into months, as I found myself merely surviving instead of pursuing the things I loved. The dreams and hopes that started this blog were tucked away and placed on a shelf in my heart. What once felt so exciting now seemed impossible. Who am I to write? Why would anyone listen to me? I began to believe the lies.

It’s funny how our hearts and minds can deceive us. You can be doing just fine and out of nowhere, we’re bombarded with these thoughts. You see, we have a real adversary who is out to destroy us. And if we grant him access to our minds, he can quickly consume our lives. What we think and believe has so much power. It controls our decisions and often hold us back from making any at all. If the devil can keep you immobile, he’s won. There’s nothing he loves more than a weak, stagnant Christian. Because they are of no threat to him.

Most of us have been in this season of life at one point or another. We are all human and are all capable of becoming distracted. As a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a friend…..the to-do list gets the best of me at times. The awesome thing is God understands that. He is fully aware of what we go through and the daily stresses we face. But, we aren’t alone. If you are a believer, the Holy Spirit inside of you, has equipped you with all that you need. He has given us the power to overcome sin and overcome satan. The Bible tells us that the same power that rose Christ from the dead, lives inside of you and me (Romans 8:11). Talk about encouraging!! You see, in my weakness, He is strong (2 Corinthians 12:9). I must die to myself and depend on Him daily. I can’t do it. But He can. My inability is a great testimony of what He is capable of using. If He can use me, He can use anyone!

So, to all you dreamers…start dreaming again. To those that have been praying over a circumstance, keep praying. If you’re believing God for a miracle, continue believing. If you’re waiting for a door to open, praise Him in the hallway. And even though your flesh may feel weak and you’ve become tired in the journey, keep moving forward. God sees your persistence. He hears you. Whatever has happened in your past, today is a new day. A fresh start. Let’s make the best of it!!
