Inadequately Guarded

Years ago, the Lord began to deal with me on a certain issue that I had been struggling with for quite some time.  It was one of those things that I knew was there, but just assumed it was normal and something I should live with.  It seemed more painful to address, than to hide and pretend didn't exist.  It was insecurity.  And it wasn't leaving without a fight. The definition of insecurity is:  not sure or certain; doubtful; inadequately guarded or protected; unsteady; not firm or fixed. I'm not sure when insecurity began to creep in....

Dodgeball

Middle School dodgeball.  I hated middle school to begin with, but throw an unathletic, awkward teen in the middle of a dodge ball fight and you have disaster.  Before the game would ever begin, I remember feeling anxiety and stress as they picked teams.  I was never first and usually last.  And during the game, I was an easy target.  You couldn't pay me enough to go back and relive this time in my life.
