Miracle Boy

miracle-boy

It was a Saturday morning in May of 2011. A day that I will never forget. My daughter had just finished up a soccer game and we came home to eat lunch. My son, at the time, was 2 weeks old and was due to eat as well. Upon feeding him his bottle, things quickly began to seem out of the ordinary. My sweet little baby was not happy and began to vomit profusely. I cleaned him up and and changed his clothes, only to repeat this process many more times. The throwing up continued and he looked to be unconscious. His eyes were glazed over and his body was completely limp. I watched in horror as I could not wake my baby. After a grueling hour of this, we decided to call 911. Our son would not wake up. Even through changing his clothes and countless attempts to stir him, we were helpless. I remember saying, “Lord, please don’t let this be happening. I can’t lose my son.”

After being admitted to the hospital and making trips to Nashville for further tests, they couldn’t find anything wrong with my son. Eventually, the doctors said that it could be acid reflux. I know what I saw that day. And it was serious. My opinion is this…..I have no idea what went on that day with my son. But I know God healed him. And that’s all I need to know. He is now a very healthy and active 3 year old boy. And he’s a testimony of the goodness of God.

During this time, I had no where to go. I didn’t have the answer, nor the solution. Nothing I could have done would have fixed my son. Every attempt to work this out on my own left me frustrated and confused. I had to trust The Lord and give it to Him. He is the author and the finisher of our faith. And I needed to fully lean on Him and His ways. That’s a lot easier said than done. As an experienced control freak, it was hard to surrender control over my child. But God showed me once again, that He is good all of the time. In the good times and the bad, He’s still good. He never changes. And His love for my children greatly outweighs the love I have for them.

In His Word, He promised never to leave us or forsake us. If you are walking through a dark time, talk to Jesus. If you are searching for answers, look to Him. He’s your answer. If you are anxious and worried over a situation, lean on the Father. If you are tired and feel like giving up, hold on a little longer. If you are in need of a miracle, praise Him while you wait. He’s already in your tomorrow, so trust Him with your today.

What is God wanting you to trust Him with today?
